Onboarding · ~5 minutes

Zero to first ranking win.

Create an account, add a site, run your first scan, apply a fix. Five steps, five minutes.

1

Create your account

Go to rootquill.com/signup. Email + password + pick a plan (start with the free 3-day trial if you want to kick the tires). You're in.

2

Add a site

Dashboard → Sites → Add a site. Paste the URL (e.g. https://yoursite.com) and a short label. Rootquill derives the origin and registers it for monitoring.

If your site is behind Cloudflare, nginx, or an app-level firewall, do the scanner allowlist first — otherwise your first scan will 403.

3

Run your first scan

Dashboard → Scanner. Paste the URL, hit Scan. Rootquill fetches, parses, and ranks issues by estimated monthly-click impact within 500ms.

Each issue shows severity (high / med / low), a one-line explanation, and the rough traffic you're leaving on the table.

4

Install the MCP (optional but strong)

Install @rootquill/mcp in your AI editor and every fix we find lands in the editor like a teammate PR. Arcwright, Claude Code, Cursor, Zed, Windsurf, VS Code all work. Full guide: Install the MCP.

5

Apply a fix

Dashboard → Issues. Click "Fix plan" on any issue — Rootquill shows the files to touch, a patch snippet, and (optionally) an AI-drafted version tailored to your codebase. Apply it in your editor. Click "Mark fixed" when it ships.

Your Analytics tab tracks "clicks won" as you close issues.
